Jaliya Nagahawatte | Policy Intern


Jaliya Nagahawatte is a 2020 Policy Intern at the Platte Institute. He conducts research with fellow staff at the Platte Institute on issues including Nebraska’s tax and regulatory policies, and their impact on jobs and income growth.

 A rising sophomore at Creighton University and a member of their Global Scholars Program, Jaliya is majoring in Business Information & Analytics as well as Finance. When not engaged in academics, Jaliya is a member of Creighton’s Model UN Team and Mock Trial program.

Outside of the internship, Jaliya stays in touch with his Sri Lankan heritage by playing cricket for local clubs.
