Luke Wenz | Vice President of Government Relations


Luke Wenz is the Vice President of Government Relations at the Platte Institute.

Prior to joining Platte, Luke spent many years as the Deputy National Outreach Director, West and Military at the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC), a DC-based bipartisan coalition that advocates for strong American leadership around the world. He was also the principal consultant of Big Stick Consulting, LLC — a public relations and government affairs consulting firm. Earlier in his career, Luke served as the Deputy District Director and Campaign Manager for U.S. Representative Jeff Fortenberry of Nebraska.

In addition to his work at Platte, Luke is a member of the American Enterprise Institute’s Millennium Leadership Network and is actively engaged in a number of strategic policy organizations such as the International Institute for Strategic Studies and Pacific Council on International Policy, among others. He previously held fellowships at the Shafik Gabr Foundation’s “East-West: The Art of Dialogue” initiative and the African Middle Eastern Leadership Project, and spent time living and working in Amman, Jordan, and with the Kayany Foundation in Lebanon, working in refugee camps whilst studying the geopolitics of the Levant.

Luke holds a B.A. in political science with a minor in the philosophy of religion from Nebraska Wesleyan University. He and his wife Tori live in Lincoln and are the proud parents of their young son, Noah, and their dogs, Amelia and Bennet.
