Lance Pounds grew up in the small town of Ontario, Oregon near the Idaho border. He attended Northwest Nazarene University where he studied economics and cultural studies. His scholarly interests include examining the intersection of technology and society, particularly emphasizing how artificial intelligence is transforming civic and economic life. Previously, Lance lived in Boise where he worked as an attorney assisting elders and people with long-term care needs in crisis. He currently lives and works in Omaha, Nebraska, which is a very different city than Boise, but he is adjusting to life there quite well.
