Bob Dudley Appointed to Platte Institute Board of Directors

OMAHA, NE – The Platte Institute is pleased to announce that Bob Dudley, President of the Norfolk-based APPEARA textile rental company, has been appointed to the Institute’s Board of Directors. The board, led by Gail Werner-Robertson of Omaha, oversees the Platte Institute’s mission to remove barriers to economic growth and opportunity statewide.

“Bob has deep roots in Norfolk and in the communities of Northeast Nebraska. His involvement on the Platte Institute’s board can help to spread our message of economic freedom all across the region, and we’re lucky he agreed to join our team,” said Jim Vokal, Chief Executive Officer of the Platte Institute.

Dudley is a graduate of the University of Nebraska—Lincoln, and returned to the family business in 1983. He is the fourth generation owner and operator of the business, which started as Dudley Laundry in 1916.

Dudley currently serves on the advisory board of US Bank and the Norfolk Area Chamber board. He has previously served as Chair or President of the Norfolk United Way, Norfolk Country Club, Norfolk Area Community Foundation, the Norfolk YMCA, First Presbyterian Church of Norfolk, and Share Inc.

“I  have been a proud supporter of the Platte Institute for years, but I’ve always said that giving is not a spectator sport,” said Dudley.

“By joining the Platte Institute’s board, I can make an even larger contribution in guiding the Institute’s research and advocacy, which aims to strengthen economic growth here in Northeast Nebraska,” said Dudley.

The Platte Institute researches and advocates for state economic policies involving regulatory reform, tax policy, and government spending. The Institute played a key role in the creation of the Nebraska Legislature’s review process for job licensing laws, and has successfully opposed ten proposed increases in state taxes or job licensing fees since 2017.

The Platte Institute advances policies that remove barriers to growth and opportunity in Nebraska. For more media resources, please visit PlatteInstitute.org/Media.
