April 8: Nebraska's Budget & the COVID-19 Crisis
Nebraska Appropriations Chair to Speak on Webinar
Nebraska state Sen. John Stinner, chairman of the Legislature's budget-writing Appropriations Committee, will be our guest on the Platte Institute's first webinar.
The program, "Nebraska's Budget & the COVID-19 Crisis," will be held on Zoom on Wednesday, April 8 at 11 a.m. Central, 10 a.m. Mountain. Participants can receive a personalized Zoom meeting link by registering at PlatteInstitute.org/Webinar.
The meeting will be recorded for later distribution and may also be recorded by participants for rebroadcast. Questions will be taken through the Zoom meeting chat feature. A program flyer is attached.
"While it will take time for researchers to fully confirm the U.S. and Nebraska are in a recession, everyone knows there is a sudden and harsh economic disruption occurring due to COVID-19," said Jim Vokal, Chief Executive Officer of the Platte Institute.
"Senator Stinner will join us to discuss how the Legislature's policy priorities will be impacted by the COVID-19 recession and how senators are budgeting for the costs of the emergency now, and once the Unicameral eventually returns to session," said Vokal.
