Dec. 16: Webinar on Measuring Prosperity in Nebraska
Nebraska ranks 16th on United States Prosperity Index
Two researchers who specialize in measuring social and economic well-being among countries will be the guests in an upcoming webinar hosted by the Platte Institute. The experts will present new figures showing how Nebraska compares with other U.S. states.
The webinar, entitled Measuring Prosperity in Nebraska, will feature Shaun Flanagan, Director of the Centre for Metrics at the London-based Legatum (Le-got-um) Institute, and Research Assistant Ed Wickstead. The Legatum Institute created the United States Prosperity Index, which compares states based on categories including health, education, business environment, personal freedom, safety and security, and more. Nebraska ranks 16th overall in the 2020 edition of the index.
Flanagan and Wickstead will present their metrics and discuss forthcoming research applying the index to Nebraska counties.
The webinar will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 11 a.m. Central Time. Registration is required at PlatteInstitute.org/Events.
Platte Institute Webinars may be recorded for broadcast and include Q&A. A recording of the program is also made available in a post-webinar news release and at PlatteInstitute.org/Podcasts. Along with webinar participants, members of the media may submit questions through the Q&A feature on Zoom.
