Summary
The Insurance Regulatory Sandbox Act would create a regulatory sandbox program under the Department of Insurance which would allow a participant in the program to temporarily test innovative insurance products or services on a limited and supervised basis. Sandboxes–typically related to advances in technology–are being implemented in different fields around the world, as innovators and regulators work to reconcile new methods of service with traditional methods of regulation.
